Plus I really wanted to see some places around Philly.
First we went to the Art Museum, I have always wanted to run up those steps, thanks to my better fitness with all these practices I was sooo fast!
Then since I had my suit on under my nice pink and navy outfit, I decided to take a chance and hop in the fountain! It was so nice to go for a little swim or float, I didn't get to make it down to the beach that much this summer.

After my nice refreshing swim, we drove off down to South Street. I really should go there more often with the amount of fun I had. I mean everyone down there LOVED me!!! I mean this one girl, yes I am not really sure how I feel about her.... chased me down the street just so that she could ask me for a dance! (pictures/movies to come) Then at the end of the night right before we left, she chased me down again to ask for my number and introduced me to all her friends... What a great start to my nights out on the town.

On another note, these guys were totally into me! I mean nobody else I was with got as much attention as I did. I mean one of the nice guys that we meet bought us all a round of drinks and even let me card people as they entered the bar, (I got to use the little machine). Then after he left, we were on our way home unfortunately, but ran into this tool who thought he knew shit about rugby. It was really fun to see KY get confused when he happened to think we played for Kentucky rugby, ( she was wearing a shirt that said that). Then it was even better to see how much he didn't know. He tried to say he wasn't playing in the world cup because he broke his finger... I mean come on now! We finally ditched him and were on our way to Pats and Ginos!

I got my first cheese steak in Philly, I got so nervous when I had to order, but luckily they endured my rookie ordering skills.

I am so excited for my next adventure out! I wonder if I will be on the roster this week, I mean I had the flu thats why I missed practice last week. You would think Lisa Rosen could see that I am only human!

Yes i know i have big boobs....

So after my lovely weekend with Kentucky, thank goodness all those dogs didn't bit me.... Well Alli and I went for a nice ride to see her sister in NJ. While we were there the oil had to be changed, so Alli went into the garage to talk to the mechanics and give them her keys. Well a few of the idol mechanics walked by the car... they stopped and chatted with me you know trying to get some of my gorgeous rugger body!!! When Alli got back in the car she said how she over heard the mechanics discussing how nice of a rack I had :) of course I know... so proud.

However, ever since I have taken up my new hobby of Rugby, my lovely chest has gotten in the way.... Sometimes I think that when I go to stiff arm someone I don't hit them with my had but instead they get a right/left boob!!! When I'm rucking and sealing on top of the player who has been tackled... the ref calls me for diving because it looks like I am laying on the ground since my chest is touching the ground.....

So anyways, maybe it is time for me to look into wearing multiple sports bras, possible duck taping and or breast reduction.... Any opinions?

It's hard being a rookie...

I never thought joining a new team would be so difficult! I don't know, I guess I was living in a dream world thinking that I could just walk up to practice and start right away, but I mean, look at my physique!?! Powerful thighs, strong arms, broad shoulders...and well, I don't like to brag but I would think that my...ahem...upper body offers a lot in the way of ball smothering abilities. I mean, seriously, even before learning to play rugby I had been ball smothering for years! Anyways, all I'm saying is that I think my talents are being overlooked a bit.

And speaking of being overlooked, I don't think Coach Rosen is paying a bit of attention to me. Last weekend was our first game and it felt more like I was being babysat on the sidelines than being treated like a true athlete. EVERYONE got to play - everyone except me, that is. I tried to speak up but every five seconds someone was grabbing my hand and saying "Go with her, Winger," or "Why don't you sit here for a while, Winger?" It was so hot outside, and it's not like I was there for my health - just sitting on the sidelines I could swear I could feel my skin just melting off...

The bottom line is, things are going to have to change around here. The first step is to figure out a good position for myself (if I wait for coach it'll NEVER happen..). That's why I've put this poll up on the right side of my blog. I want to take everyone's advice into account when deciding where it'll be best for me to compete. Like I said before, I realize I'm new to this sport, but once I decide where I really fit in I'm going to throw out all the stops in fighting for a starting spot. My name, of course, is Winger, but I'm not sure if wing is really my natural position. I mean, really all the back three do is just stand around out there and wait for all the real rugby players get the work done so that they can score. And besides, I know I'm probably the fastest player we've got, so if I decide I want to try for an outside back position later on, I'll still be able to do that.

So then where does that leave me? Not so sure. You know, the rest of the backs work pretty hard I guess, but I'm thinking that the pack is where all the action really is. With my great attitude, field vision, and physical superiority, I'm thinking that 8-man might be my calling. There's this one girl who plays there most of the time, but I don't really remember her name. You know, wherever the team has a weakness, that's where I feel that I should help out.

Well, so long for now - practice is in a few hours and I need get focused so that I can come out ready to compete....I'll let you know how it goes!

-Winger
